David Abram is a Cultural Ecologist, Philosopher and Author of one of my all time most favorite books!
I found these videos of him created by the Foundation for Global Humanity in which he explains his passions which are the Ecology of Sensory Experience and the Ecology of Language.
He says:
“To come deeply into relationship with one another and with our world necessitates that we drop inside of time into the thick of the sensuous present…”
When you have some time, open your heart and listen to his beautiful insights and his sharing!

Every living being is connected by the same life force .. plants, trees, water, weeds, seeds, animals, and us .. and we have to remind people of this. We have to remember, reconnect to Mother Gaia. We posses a power so unique as these Being, a human. David’s perspective on this force, the ecology of it, is beautiful! We can and Will learn more about ourselves through observing and connecting with our Mother.

I love David’s notion that we need to step out of work “for a better future” and step instead into the eternal now and present moment in which our brother and sister non-two-legged creatures (the winged folk!) live. I love the way David describes so eloquently his relationship with the world around him, his sentiment is one of romance and mysticism. His enthusiasm is contagious and inspiring. It invites/reminds ones to stop and connect with ourselves and the landscapes in which we walk. I find this language to be evocative and inspirational. I feel alive and deeply grateful for this gentle reminder. Thank you for posting.
